- 【1060 Carbon Steel & finished Edge】 The 1060 carbon steel is heat tempered, leaving a visible wavy temper pattern along the functional edge, then finished to an edge suited to dojo practice. A bo-hi groove is cut down each side of the blade to lighten it and improve its balance in the hand.
- 【Tsuba, Habaki & Rayskin Handle】 The mounting is led by a human-figures-motif tsuba, with a fitted habaki collar locking the blade in place. The wood handle is wrapped over genuine rayskin (samegawa) in cotton ito, secured with menuki under the wrap for a firm, textured grip.
- 【Full Tang & Black Saya】 The full tang runs the length of the handle and is secured with a bamboo mekugi peg. The blade rests in a black lacquered wood saya finished with a sageo cord. Blade 28.3 in, handle 10.8 in, overall 42.5 in.
