• 【Crane Katana】 A functional Japanese sword, the Crane Katana is the hero of this set, hand forged from 1045 high carbon steel as a full tang katana with a 28.3 in blade and a balanced two-handed feel for traditional form and display.
• 【1045 Steel & Finished Edge】 The 1045 high carbon steel blade is heat-tempered to bring up a visible wavy temper pattern along the edge, then functional edge for dojo practice with proper training; a bo-hi groove is cut into each side to lighten the blade and add an audible note through the swing.
• 【Crane Tsuba & Rayskin Handle】 A pierced crane tsuba carries the theme at the guard, set above a fitted habaki collar. The wood handle is wrapped over genuine rayskin (samegawa) and bound in black cotton ito over menuki for a secure, traditional two-handed grip.
• 【Full Tang & Vermilion Saya】 The full tang is pinned by a bamboo mekugi peg through the handle, and the blade rides in a vermilion red lacquered wood scabbard (saya) painted with a flying-bird artwork and finished with a black sageo cord. Blade 28.3 in, handle 10.6 in, overall 41 in.
