Full tang construction carries the steel through the entire handle as one continuous piece, with a 28.5-inch curved functional blade.
• 【Clay-Tempered Hamon, Folded Grain】The 1045 high carbon blade is clay-tempered, leaving a genuine visible hamon along the edge, and shows a visible folded grain from the Damascus forging. It is finished to an edge suited to dojo practice. The blade carries no bo-hi, keeping a solid, full-bodied cross-section.
• 【Musashi Tsuba & Rayskin Handle】A Musashi tsuba sits above a fitted habaki collar at the base of the blade. The wood handle is wrapped over genuine rayskin (samegawa) panels and bound with black cotton ito cord over set menuki ornaments, giving a secure two-handed grip.
• 【Full Tang, Black Saya & Appraisal】The full tang blade is pinned with bamboo mekugi pegs for a tight fit and sheathes into a plain black lacquered wooden saya finished with a black sageo cord. Blade 28.5 in, handle 10.5 in, overall 40.5 in. An appraisal document is included with the sword.
